MACDI promotes inclusive education for children with disabilities

The Vietnamese Government has indicated its willingness to pursue IE policy measures designed to enhance IE. IE policy is an era trend and it should be practiced in Vietnam as well. Hence, the project is responsive to the development strategy and policies of the Government in assisting CWD in the IE policy, which is clarified through a series of legislative and legal documents

With support from GPE, Oxfam Denmark and the government, MACDI is implementing the project for promoting inclusive education for children with disabilities (CWD) in Hoa Binh, An Giang and Bac Ninh provinces with the participation of the Inclusive Education Support Group (IESG)

The project contributes to SDGs 1,2,3,4,5,10 and 16. Specifically, it improves SDG4 (especially Inclusive Education), the whole project is the process to promote education policy implementation for the most marginalized groups of pupils: Children with disabilities (CWD) in Viet Nam. In particular, the project aims to support mainly CWDs at the age 6-16 to join school as the same as their friends. Besides, the project also promotes the rights and benefits of teachers who are teaching CWDs as the state in current policies.

MACDI is working closely with VUSTA, MOET, Departmemt of education and relevant agencies to carry out the project activities to ensure the rights of children with disabilities. We highly appreciate the support from Global Partnership for Education (GPE), Education Outloud, and Oxfam Denmark for children with disability in Viet Nam. Many thanks to the government, VUSTA, CSOs, Ministry of Education and Training, and provincial partners for their collective action for inclusive education and the rights of children with disability.
